SmaltoPedia 2.0 - Episodio Sette

Today starts the second half of SmaltoPedia 2.0. Today's inspiration is this autumn nail art by the well-known Christabell @christabellnails (I consider it truly impossible that you don't know this artist... unless you live in a Himalayan cave in the middle of nowhere, with no internet connection. But in that case I bet you wouldn't be reading this post, right?)

Both Giulia and I changed a little something.

Since autumn is already a quite sad season on its own, I didn't feel like wearing gray on my nails too, despite loving the original design. So I decided to replace the hues of gray with this beautiful baby-blue by Layla, called "Italian Blue Sky". I think it's as much delicate as the original but with that extra hint of brightness that reduces the sense of melancholy of these branches with only a few leaves left. Talking about the nail art itself, I recreated everything exactly as it was, to avoid altering the perfect balance of the design.

Giulia, on the other hand, didn't really like the original nail art. Not for the design, but rather for the colors. In her opinion (and I totally agree!) the best shades to represent autumn are red, orange and yellow.... not gray and white! Anyway she thought the simple minimalism was very interesting and she decided to draw the small leaves in black with white veins, keeping the result maybe not very autumnal but with no doubts elegant.
